NORTHERN CAPE’S MOST PICTURE-PERFECT PLACES
The Northern Cape, South Africa’s largest province, ranges through a variety of breathtaking landscapes, recognizable landmarks, and incredible photo opportunities. From the breezy, inhabited West Coast, to the lush Nama-Karoo towards the oasis of the Orange River, and upwards into the drier red dunes of the Kalahari Desert.
The province has six national parks, two of the largest rivers in the nation, and is home to superlative natural treasures like the Riemvasmaak Hot Springs, the 56-meter-high Augrabies Falls, breathtaking night skies, and the ever-popular winter rainfall season, when the vibrant blossoms cover the landscape.
These are some of our recommendations for the most Instagrammable and photo-friendly travel destinations in the Northern Cape.

6. The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park
Suited between the border of South Africa and Botswana and approximately 250 km from Upington in the far Northern Cape, the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is a large wildlife preserve and conservation area in southern Africa.
Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park offers some of the best places in the world for wildlife viewing because of the limited vegetation and animal concentration in the dry riverbeds of the Auob and Nossob Rivers. The seasonal movement of large herbivores like the blue wildebeest, springbok, eland, and red hartebeest is as well-known, as its reputation for predator observation.
